The Basic Principles of Dr. Nowzaradan’s Diet
The diet proposed by the Iranian-American doctor has the following characteristics:

- 6 meals a day
- take at least 2 liters of water per day
- 45 minutes of daily physical activity

For breakfast you can drink an unsweetened drink (tea, coffee or milk) by choosing to accompany it with one of the following alternatives:
- White Greek yogurt
- 150 g cottage cheese
- 150 g egg whites with 1 slice of defatted ham
2 Snacks: 1 mid-morning and 1 mid-afternoon
You can eat 1 cucumber and one of these suggestions:
- 1 hard-boiled egg
- 1 low-fat yogurt
- 50g of bresaola
Lunch and Dinner
Lunch and dinner are structured by eating a protein source along with a satiating portion of vegetables of your choice. 50g of legumes or potatoes are allowed only once a week. The seasoning provided in the diet is: 1 teaspoon of oil per meal, vinegar and lemon, aromatic herbs and spices, a pinch of salt per meal.
Among the protein sources we can choose between:
- 100g lean meat
- 100g lean fish
- 75g bresaola
- egg whites omelette with 2 slices of defatted ham
- 80g grilled tofu or seitan
After dinner snack
After dinner, you need to eat 250ml of milk and 1 scoop of whey protein with the addition of stevia or spices if necessary.
